We have been having brunch here weekly and it’s a great vibe. Food, service, atmosphere all perfect. We have swapped out dinner dates for a sweet lingering brunch and almond and oak is the perfect place for it. Great for out of town guests too with a stop by the farmers market or a pop in the bookstore. The staff is friendly and the service is great. We love The quiche and the fruit bowl and have had many of the egg dishes which are all good. My latte is always perfect. I don’t drink but we sit at the bar and they make lots of gorgeous brunch cocktails. Recommend for an intimate catch up, or a spot to cozy in w a bigger group of family and friends. I am sure dinner is great too but we are sold on brunch. Enjoy!

We arrive for breakfast just after 10, so we had choice of shaded curtained outside parklette or inside. Service was just right with staff checking in but not overly so. Food was excellent! The beignets with just a tiny hint of the attending strawberry jam were wonderful. I had the homemade orange-rosemary soda and it was very refreshing, not super sweet. The Gordita was spiced just right and they have perfectly poached eggs! The other order was the shrimp and grits with a side bacon. There was not a crumb left over. We’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely phenomenal brunch. My fiance and I split the steak sandwich and the eggs Benedict today. We loved each dish equally and were very impressed with the food after deciding to go here on a whim. We will totally be going back!

✨First time at Almond & Oak and already planning my return! ✨ Ask for Yanni 💖 The food was incredible, but what truly elevated the experience was the outstanding service from Yanni. Yanni was warm, friendly, and completely attuned to our needs throughout the meal. Our glasses were never empty, plates were cleared seamlessly, and he had a deep knowledge of the menu that made choosing dishes and drinks feel effortless. He recommended a drink called tepache, which I had never tried before—and I absolutely loved it! It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and genuinely warm and welcoming. Yanni struck that perfect balance and made our first visit truly memorable. 10/10 for food, service, and vibe. Can’t wait to come back!

Whenever I want a solid meal with fresh quality ingredients, I come here. I usually do their brunch but I tried their dinner menu last night and was thoroughly impressed. We got the squash soup, Caesar salad, gnocchi, branzino, and mashed potatoes. Literally everything was delicious. These folks know how to cook! Also can’t forgot the fudge sundae for dessert which really hit the spot. Usually I feel underwhelmed and like I overpaid when we eat out but last night we left and thought, damn that was a good meal and very reasonably priced considering the quality of food. Ambiance is also very cozy with the brick, wood, and low light. Love their seasonal menu!

First time here from the city and absolutely loved it! We dined for Sunday brunch and it was exceptional. The food was on point, the space was perfect and the service was incredible. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Josh, the bartender made a cosmo that was modern and better than expected. We'll be back often!

Fantastic brunch spot for Sunday afternoons. Greta atmosphere and service. Very down home and earthy. Well designed too with a menu to match. Not pictured were the beignets which my neighbor friend at the bar just gave me a piece of, freaking fantastic.

Everything I had was high quality and not overpowering flavor. I was wearing a Grizzly Man T-shirt and the bartender recognized it, meaning that the staff here must have top quality film taste. A unique prosciutto and broccoli Benedict, and Shrimp + Grits made for a great brunch with some corn bread.

Incredible food and perfect atmosphere for a date night in Oakland. Loved the wood fire grilling food and the meals were amazing. Had a burger and a steak, both were excellent

I was looking for a fancy place for a girls brunch on a Saturday and chose Almond and Oak because I figured we could go kill time at the farmers market across the street if the wait was too long. We arrive around 11:30am and luckily a table for 2 was only a 20 minute wait. So we put our name down and walked around the neighboring shops before deciding to go to the flower shop right next door. We had just finished purchasing a potted plant and some scented shower steamers when I got the text that our table was ready. The hostess sat us at a hightop communal table in the main dining room, which has a rustic warehouse feel and lots of natural light. We started with an Arnold Palmer and a fancy mocktail. Drooling over all the delicious menu options, we decided to share a few dishes between the two of us. We ordered the skillet cornbread, the baked French toast, and a scrumptious quiche. The food came out quickly and everything was so good that my date decided to order a second quiche to take home to her man. The service was attentive, the noise level was mid range, and the overall vibe was hip but not pretentious. We would definitely eat here again, and based on the dishes we saw at neighboring tables, we plan to try the eggs benedict and their sandwiches next time.
